Tignes Local Market

Local market with regional produce, souvenirs & clothing

featured in Events calendar Updated

The market sets up every Thursday and Sunday on Promenade de Tovière in Tignes le Lac, not far from the Maison Tignes.

Open all day, you can stroll along under the awnings and investigate the different products on offer. From fresh fruits and vegetables, to artisanal cheeses to fur hats and selfie-sticks (for taking the perfect selfie on the hill), there is something for everyone at the Tignes market. If you are visiting for the week, this is a great place to do some souvenir shopping and sample some great local products.

Highlights of the market are definitely the cheeses and saucissons. The Savoie region is famous for its charcuterie and one should not leave Tignes without sampling some of this delicious cured meat.

Another regional product that you must try whilst here is the famous Beaufort cheese. Beaufort is a noble Alpine cheese made exclusively from unpasteurised cow’s milk in the French Alps. These cows graze on the beautiful mountain pastures that surround Tignes, giving the cheese a delicious and unforgettable taste. Some of the cheese wheels that you will see at the market weigh up to 58kgs. That's one heck of a lot of cheesy goodness!
